DJI probably believes these lights are status indicators and their color and flash rate conform to whatever message they intend to send to the flyer. Therefore it would be impractical to allow the pilot to control these else they lose to ability let you know when it's connected, connection lost, error message, no gps, etc. One day DJI might decide to have true built-in strobes that are different from the LED status indicator lighting but that business is already well-covered by third parties and if DJI did this, they would need to start servicing them as well. Perhaps if they come up with a way to minimize battery drain and lower the additional cost and it's a good idea especially if they created an entire user-defined customized lighting suite; however, personally I feel they haven't done with because....they don't have to, no one else has, they have no competition so why bother. Probably on their list but at the bottom.
