Looking at Mavic 2 Pro purchase. Any thoughts on the best method to purchase? Do most buy from DJI direct? Amazon? Normally I like to shop local dealers if at all possible. Having a live human being for education, issues, questions, etc. is usually a good idea. SEEMS like having that for a drone would be a good idea. However, I have also made purchases locally and had an issue and was immediately sent to the manufacturer, "Not our problem". Plan on getting the M2P with a fly more package and the DJI Care deal. Any thoughts appreciated.

I did think this one was interesting.

Not sure I understand your comment...are you saying buy from DJI, easy replacement....don't buy from DJI...???? Sorry..!

Replacements are probably a bit faster through local retailers.

It depends where you live. If you're lucky enough to have a dealer nearby who is knowledgeable, then that might be the way to go.

If you want to buy online, I keep a sortable list of current deals from reputable dealers and sellers here:

Buy A DJI Mavic (Deals Updated Daily)

If the deal you want to buy does not come with DJI Care, you can buy it directly from DJI here. Make sure you use the link on that page to activate your DJI Care plan within 48 hours of activating your Mavic in DJI GO 4.

I’ve been fortunate in not having to send a lot of things back to DJI.
The few times that did occur was certainly not the worst experience, but also could have been better. I do think there is some validity to being able to walk into a store and be able to resolve an issue.

I have no nearby dealers so I opted to buy direct from DJI. I also purchased the Fly-More package. If I had it to do over again, I think I would have just purchased the extra batteries and props separately and foregone the Fly-More package. I do not use the DJI 4-station charger or the Fly-More case. I use a 3 station parallel charger that can charge 3 batteries simultaneously in about 45 minutes or less depending on state of charge, versus up to 4 1/2 hours for the DJI solution. The shoulder bag was a no-go for me as I did not like stuffing parts on top of each other. This was a much more logical case for my needs ...

Good luck with your purchase!

I think it all depends on where you are located. Do you have a local merchant or will it have to be shipped to you. Personally, I purchased directly thru DJI as they did not charge shipping or sales tax so it saved me $100 or so in the long run.

Thanks guys. I sort of know from other experiences that the "packages" such as Fly More generally include a bunch of stuff that ends up being not so useful. Batteries are a given, the more the merrier. Extra set of props as well. What is the best charger and carrying case to get and do I go for the Smart Controller seem to be the questions.

If you are thinking about the SC, it is a lot cheaper as a package. I am really happy with mine.

Also I went with the Apache 3800 from Harbor Frei20190325_190818.jpg20190325_190729.jpg20190325_191159.jpgght, not
very expensive and seems to be good quality. It carries what I need for any day trip.

The DJI Smart control and pro package and the fly more package separate was the only option when I bought mine(zoom), Not sure what the options are now. Bought it from DJI site and it shipped from California so got it pretty quick. The case has "pinch and pull" squares, two layers, so you make it to fit how ever you want for what you have. I also sprayed it when done, foam only, to keep the rest of it from separating when taking things in and out. Have seen others post that the spray may react with the case or whatever but I did mine several months ago and it is fine. I did use the whole can to get good saturation of the foam. There may be better ways but I dought there are any less expensive ways and I am very happy with mine. Also they do have the bigger ones for not much more if you want to put more stuff in it.

Did you spray the coating on the entire interior, inside the cutouts (pinchouts?) as well as the flat areas between the spaces for the drone equipment? Seems like the hard coating would rub against the drone during transport, no?
