U.S. Customs blocking DJI drone imports

Oh boy, sounds like we made our moves at just the right time.
Between the issues with Customs and retailers not currently carrying the Air 3S, I almost feel like I have a collector's item with the Air 3S...haha.

LOL! True and thank goodness we acted when we did. If we’d delayed for even a week we might have been out of luck.

i keep telling myself, maybe it will go so long we get a update to the air3... or air3s or more info on the Mavic 4..... but I'm really just jelly of you people who got it... I want 6 batteries with my current air3 and non existent air3s lol

I think you can still get an Air 3S, but you may have to wait a bit. For the time being I think your best bet is buying through DJI directly. Otherwise, I prefer to support American based retailers.

there is no shortage on air 3s drones. plenty of people have them around the world and if you must have one in the u.s. then you can order it directly from the people who make them. the going price for one on Ebay is usually a good indicator for condition and I'm just not seeing too many air 3s drones on sale at inflated prices. by BF and/or holidays, Stefanik will have given up on this round and concentrate efforts on blocking the next round and these drones will be flowing freely.

I feel I got lucky, or even fortunate, in receiving my Air 3S. There are still plenty of people who are still waiting on their DJI order. I did read one case over on the DJI forum where a buyer filed a dispute claim with their credit card company because their Air 3S was held up in Customs and they weren't getting answers from anybody even after the requested information was submitted.

I guess I would be less inclined to buy any more DJI drones directly from DJI until this political mess between the two countries clears up. That, and I would have to see MAJOR spec bumps before I consider upgrading/selling anything from my current fleet.

Hey Ryan, I just noticed your YouTube fishing channel. Very nice videos!

Thank you very much! It's been a challenging time to start an ice fishing channel with the last two seasons not being ideal for ice conditions, which is I why I don't have a ton of videos. Hopefully third time is the charm? I picked up a Neo to tag along with me for this upcoming ice fishing season to get some different shots; I'm looking forward to seeing how that turns out.

What a nightmare this sounds.
I'm from the UK, but currently living in the US. Last drone I bought here was a mini 3 pro, and had no issues with getting that. But, I do not currently have any residency in the US, or US social security etc. All i have is my UK ones. So if this is the process citizens are going through, then I don't think I've got any chance at all of getting one.

If what is being said is true, then you only need to provide identification for restricted products that are imported (aka Chinese DJI drones). If you buy from a local store or an online shop in the country then no government ID is required for the most part.

I got an email fro dji yesterday offering a comparison between mini 4pro and Air 3s......and they are taking orders.....just can't fine out when it would arrive, although they are offering upgrade to quick delivery

Whether it's quick seems to be one thing. Getting your drone from China feels like the lottery at this point.
