Unlocking authorization zone

Can anyone offer advice on how to fly within a designated DJI Authorization Zone? The area in which I want to fly is a couple miles from an airport so the ceiling is 100 feet. That's fine. I apply to unlock the zone using at the DJI site, enter appropriate dates, receive a code allowing me to unlock, get to the site, sync app and aircraft, and I still get the dreaded "unlock authorization zone failed" message. I'm approaching wit's end. What step am I missing?

Are there perhaps overlapping zones at that location? If so, you'd need authorization for both. Also, try syncing your aircraft at home *before* heading out.

You might get better answers with more details. Where, exactly, are you trying to fly?

Is it controlled airspace? Meaning by the FAA.
