Very.co.uk orders - UK

  • Mavic Only or Combo and any extras? - Mavic only
  • Date/Time of purchase? - 26/10/2016
  • Estimated Delivery date? - 16/01/2107
  • Delivered or Not? - Yes, on the 1st of December

Second order

  • Mavic Only or Combo and any extras? - Fly more combo
  • Date/Time of purchase? - 04/11/2016
  • Estimated Delivery date? - 16/01/2107
  • Delivered or Not? - No, now showing 6th February 2017

As I wanted the fly more accessories and along with the Very 10% back offer I decided to keep my order and when it arrives sell the bare Mavic and keep the accessories.

But now the mavic is becoming readily available I'm wondering if I'll even make £1000 selling the mavic! I may just cancel the fly more order and buy the accessories I want individually. It'll cost me a fair bit more doing it that way though!

Confused.com!!

Well that's annoying, I ordered on the 25/10/2016 Mavic Only and have nothing. Wonder how you managed to get to the front of the queue. Glad people have been receiving them though. :-)

Didn't you say Dataselect have a meeting with Very today? Hopefully we might hear something today.

I spoke to Very on live chat last night, another 5 mins of my life I'll not get back. They have forward on to the trace team and should hear today, but from what I've heard from here they are as much use as a chocolate fire guard, so not holding my breath. The agent couldn't believe how long I'd been waiting 12 weeks now!

That is what I was told. Although, the guy from Dataselect didn't have much info last Friday so I can only assume that he is going to tell Very that he has nothing to update them with.

I would just like an email that says 'we have been in contact with DJI and we are getting x many mavics on x date" - rather than automated dates that falsely raise hopes before letting them down. I don't mind the waiting as long as I know how long for.

In the nicest possible way , if you're automated dates have been pushed back more than once and everyone you speak too offers no information and the 'trace' team can't trace a straight line (see what I did there ) then the writings on the wall and other avenues should be sought ?!

Only reason I stuck with jessops was because the missus ordered it from there back in October for my birthday (this week) and they have been delivering units weekly.....if I d have gone down the very route I think I d have cut and run a while ago tbh.

I know what you mean, but when you have it £300 cheaper and 12 month's to pay it off, it's hard to give up. I've also paid off half now. They will come through eventually.

Yeah I take those points.....discount and interest free or whatever is a powerful combination and if you're patient and don't care when it comes then I see where you're coming from.

My missus got told January for my drone at point of ordering so we can have no complaints really, I find it slightly entertaining everyone whose had full on panics about it though....it's a drone....not life saving medication.....

Same here, the chance of getting the Fly more bundle for less than £1K is quite a draw still, even if it does turn out to be a "Fly Eventually"... rather than a Fly More..

To be fair, even back in November when the initial date was supposedly 17th November, I don't think any VERY customers took it with anything more than a pinch of salt. Even now, I dont believe for a second that they will get say 800 units and ship them to all the orders, my opinion is that they will receive them (if at all) in smaller batches over a period of time, like other retailers.

If I get too impatient, I will simply pull the trigger with DJI and see what happens.

I think what I ve taken from all this is the disparity between retailers and how some are getting regular units and some are getting none,

How can someone like heliguy - a dedicated hobby store which specialise in the product and little else (when compared to jessops) and from I can gather have a far and wide reach aren't getting anything or extremely small numbers, is it buying power ?! I m not so sure. Politics perhaps?!

Why do you guys not cancel and order through DJI directly? I dont understand why you're waiting?

Because we got the Mavic for £799 through Very so to order through DJI now means a £300 price hike. Personally I got one through DR last week so am just holding out to sell mine off to recoup some costs. So no real rush for me :)

Oh, fair one! Wow! You guys got a good price! they clearly witnessed the interested and thought they could afford to make more profit on them! I paid 1180 or so for drone and extra batt.

How much do you think you'll get for it when it arrives?

I'm doing the same, keeping the Fly More accessories when it arrives and selling the Mavic. Not sure it'll be worth while by the time it arrives though!
