RID trackers using an external antenna and connected to an app or computer can receive and record all drone RID transmissions within a 5 mile radius 24/7 and are currently available for sale to anyone for under $800, which is well within the budget of anyone wanting to surveil, locate, deter, report, and prosecute drone pilots who are flying illegally, or transiting "their" airspace.. Flying BVLOS recorded from RID data is child's play. If the drone is being flown more than a mile away from the pilot, the pilot is in violation, and can immediately be confronted while still flying, and warned, cited, and/or arrested. Most universities track all drone flights on campus, as do golf courses, and land owners. Most public events have drone detection and drone deterrence measure in place that start with RID. Law enforcement can certainly afford such units that are now less than 10% of the price of Auroscopes that are no longer sold by DJI, and cover all brands of drones with RID, not just DJI.
