I've been flying drones for a few years but always fairly simple models that have limited camera and range capabilities. I've just upgraded to a Mavic 2 Pro. Super impressed and I'm enjoying getting used to the features and functions of this awsome flying camera.
My questions pertain to VLOS and the 500m UK range limit (or is it a guideline?). Can you extend the 500m range with the use of a scope? How would you get caught if not "in the act". Is your flight telemetry available to the CAA or being automatically sent up to servers somewhere? I fully appreciate the need to fly responsibily and avoid flying over built up areas etc. but it would be far preferrable to fly via the 4k camera/screen rather than my (rather limited) range of sight and there are a few spots of country side that cover a range of greater than 500m that would be interesting to explore. Just trying to understand what's reaslistic, legal and what guidance some of the experienced users out there can offer.
