Warm Batteries in Storage

I found this forum looking for an answer to why my batteries were warm. To paraphrase Victor Kiam*, I liked it so much, I decided to join.

I remember the Remington Shaver ad where he was so impressed, he "bought the company". I don't remember the bra one.

That's the guy. We even used to see him advertising on UK TV. We're about the same vintage I think. I still find old US TV shows on YouTube more entertaining than the current stuff, and the sound is so much better. At the moment I'm reliving Burke's Law ?
