what happens when you do csc with the ma2 at 500 meter and try to restart the motors while in free fall?

This won’t work with a MA2, so I recommend you use your fathers DJI Inspire 2 (with X5S) instead.

Are you referring to the tests that I linked to in post #6 above? If so then that was a Mavic Pro. The motors spin up automatically to stabilize the aircraft after they are armed with the CSC.
