I belong to the AMA since I also fly Goblin Helicopters. So, I guess when the FAA makes a final ruling I'll stick with the AMA since I've been a member for over 25 years.

Academy for Model Aeronautics = AMA for those of you who don't fly model aircraft. I keep trying to remember what it stands for but keep forgetting. I get it confused with the American Medical Association.
AMA is required at my club flying fields. So when I'm out away from those fields (in open areas) I still fly under the AMA rules. Provided I fly by those rules, AMA gives me insurance coverage.
