There is a vortex around the blades. Similar to a sideways tornado, Flying through the blades will cause the drone to lose control do to the fact that the wind current within the vortex is faster than the top speed of the drone and will over power the drone and the GPS. We did this at a promotion for a wind farm in Palm Springs CA, we ended to stop the drone 10 feet out from the blades and not go through the blades, we were unable to stop the drone, it was sucked right into the blades. Bye Bye Phantom Pro 4 Plus. it pretty much cut the drone in half.
Can we please keep this simple? Will the drone get sucked into the vortex like a helicopter that is on top of another helicopter, both of which are in the air and they crash into each other.
So there is no turbulence rip current sinkhole vortex going on?

If there is then I never got close enough to experience it. Or I am just lucky after 20-30 flights around them.
Why even film a wind turbine for anyway?
I know folks have posted pics and vids here of them...but has anyone taken a shot at flying through one (one that is spinning)?
They look cool from different perspective that a drone can provide. And this is Missouri. There literally is nothing interesting in the landscape lol.

I remember I saw this, and was lucky to find it again:
You should take a weekend trip down to southern Missouri, around Mark Twain National Forest. And this is Missouri. There literally is nothing interesting in the landscape lol.
You can achieve that effect really easy with the Mavic Zoom by flying close to it , and it will look good and scary which is most likely what your going for.
Let the camera do the work.

Cutting edge gear to fly your Mavic.
This guy crashed his Spark trying to go to the Wind Turbine.
Flying near wind turbines - NOT RECOMMENDED
If anyone was wondering (because I certainly was) if a wind turbine will interfere with drone performance, I can confirm that it does, and it did today. I did this against my better judgement, and as you can see after about 400 yards of flight the Spark simply dropped into the field. There...forum.dji.com
