I’m not willing to risk a 3rd party app.

That's too bad - Litchi offers a huge bang for buck.
You realize that Litchi uses the same software kit provided by Dji?
Also if you're in US the law prevents denying warranty for using 3rd party apps or parts.
Anyway - do yourself a favor and read what folks have to say about it. I've been using it for quite some time now with no more glitches than I've had with GO4.

Yeah - not a toy per se but I just picked up a Spark to use as a "scouting" drone. What sold me was the hand take-off for quick and discrete deployment.
Oh - and it has waypoints

Are way[pints in Litchi for the Spark now? On their website it says they’re not supported on the Mavic along with orbit.

Yes. You have to have the beta version of Litchi but that's easy peasey. Look at the bottom of their web page and click on beta.
I haven't checked yet but someone said that actions at waypoints are not yet implemented - not a big deal for me because I seldom use them.
