I remember when i first got my mavic there was a setting to select 5ghz in the dji go 4 app.
I cannot seem to find this. Was it removed in one of the updates?

I think the only time you can choose between 2.4ghz and 5ghz is when you use your mobile device as the the controller and doesn't show up when using the regular controller.

That's correct. The video downlink and remote controller always operate at 2.4 GHz.

That's using your phone's WiFi to control the MP w/o the controller.

OTOH, the Phantom 4 Pro does do RC in the 5 GHz band. So 2.4 for longer range out in the countryside and 5 GHz for urban/suburban areas.
