UnnecessaryHow bad is the video if you leave the gimbal cover on to protect the Mavic gimbal from the wind?
If you watch the video of the winter flights @Phantomrain.org posted above you will see that the wind blowing the gimbal up was the only problem he had with the Mavic 2.Unnecessary
If you film with the Gimbal Cover on it would be terrible. The only issue was the gimbal flipping up but knowing that was the headwind on the turn slowly , you would simply negotiate the wind better so that does not happen. The Drone was fine and there was no damage to the camera. How bad is the video if you leave the gimbal cover on to protect the Mavic gimbal from the wind?
I’m not questioning whether it works or not, but I’m just saying that it looks like decorative foam stickers. Also, I don’t fly on rainy days so I don’t really have a need. I’m sure other people do so maybe that’s for them; just not for me.You will be getting your Air 2S soon and you will find out fairly quickly how fast rain gets inside the battery on your first unexpected shower. Its a wake up call, Only takes about 3 minutes in the rain to disconnect.
You will than be forced to only fly on perfect days, and without any chance to capture the storm and when it does rain, you will be in panic mode.
These are issue that were solved with the Wet Suit protecting the Battery and the Power button which gets compromised very easily and When that happens the battery starts to swell .
I think we have close to 300 videos of us Flying in the Rain , so were way past the Peace of mind stage , the Wet Suits allow you to fly in the Rain and Capture the Storm

Yes the Neoprene uses a 3M Adhesive and for good reason.I’m not questioning whether it works or not, but I’m just saying that it looks like decorative foam stickers. Also, I don’t fly on rainy days so I don’t really have a need. I’m sure other people do so maybe that’s for them; just not for me.
Right on. I have the Platinum cover so it doesn’t hold the gimbal. There is another clip for that. I won’t fly in anything that bad anyway. i was just curious. Thanks!! Can’t wait to get my order. If you film with the Gimbal Cover on it would be terrible. So there is no reason to Fly with the Gimbal cover on as well as it could damage the camera .

I would have liked the footage that was taken u der the waterlinie....Once again, we submerge all the drones under water , including the Phantom 4 , and the Boards are somewhat protected however some of the Modules are the weak link,
Both the Air2 and the Mini 2 have a weak Esc module when submerged under water which than needs to be replaced.
as well as the Battery.
This is when we began to understand better how the drones worked. and Each drone had its weak spot.
Thus the Wet Suit were Designed and Engineered around that.
I have included a Neon Battery Pack for both you and your son, so you will both have the same of everything, Thank you for your support.Right on. Awesome!! Thank you very much! How and where do you suggest placing FAA registration numbers with the rain suits?I have included a Neon Battery Pack for both you and your son, so you will both have the same of everything, Thank you for your support.

We leave the back legs open : My suggestion is buying the Dymo label maker and making your tags with that.Awesome!! Thank you very much! How and where do you suggest placing FAA registration numbers with the rain suits?
Sounds good. I will look into one. I bet if I dig around I have one of the old school ones that makes the raised letters in the plastic strip. Donthey even make those anymore? LolWe leave the back legs open : My suggestion is buying the Dymo label maker and making your tags with that.

Fantastic thank you for the pictures and the effort you put into the showing.I will try to attach some pics of the rain gear now.
The high wind really beats up the M1P up high with the rescue jacket on. I had to go into sport mode to fight the wind to get back home. Lol
I think they look pretty cool. Some purple battery covers would be a nice addition.
Thanks again Coal!

I live near all sorts of bodies of water. Waterfalls, creeks, rivers, lakes, you name it and we have it in NY. I am very tempted to explore and photograph these beautiful places with the drones. So I figure there is a damned good chance that one of them will eventually get wet and/or crash in the water. If the wetsuit saves one battery from getting fried as a minimum and potentially the whole drone from frying just one time it was worth the cost. The added security of knowing that even in a crash landing over the middle of the lake with the rescue jacket attached it isn’t going to sink is super nice. I think the extra padding of the wetsuit is a bonus in the event of a crash or drop.I am curious, is there any kind of guarantee you offer? Obviously you have done testing, but if someone relying on the product has an issue with water ingress, do you replace the drone if it's determined (where possible) that the product was being used as intended? There is always a small chance of defective product, etc. Not trying to stir up anything, I am genuinely curious if 100% of the risk is on the customer or not.
I don't fly in the rain (I can think of very few reasons why someone would want to outside of S&R, inspections, etc.), but I can see value in an "insurance policy" of sorts for the drone if flying in fast changing weather and you get caught in some rain unexpectedly.
No not yet, I am working on the Purple for you.Hey @Phantomrain.org any “tow drone” test results yet?
Very cool! I have been swamped with things to do lately so haven’t even had time to take mine to the lake yet. Soon enough. I’ll get ya good pics and if I can get my wife to ride along maybe some video landing on the water. No not yet, I am working on the Purple for you.
