Can I fly a Flip in an airspace near an airport that is a 100’ (or whatever) zone? Maybe it’s more correctly an “altitude” zone… Some areas are 200’…some 100’….I get permission from Air Control app for my drones but I’m actually asking for a friend who is ordering a Flip and lives in a 200’ area. Does he need to get permission each time he flies just as I do with his sub-250gr Flip?

Yes. Just fly within the authorized parameters.

That seems to go against a full 5 min :) of 'net research. In a few other places it implied I would need to get permission from Air Control app for the Flip to fly in a 100' controlled zone near an airport just like I would for my other drones. Your confident that is not the case?

Regardless of the type of drone if you get LAANC approval you can fly within the Airspace parameters
