I recently got a Mavic 2 a couple months ago and am looking for an antenna extension (range extender) to get better quality signal and longer range flights. I am debating between the 4hawks Raptor XR or the Titan Cyclone system. What would you guys recommend?

More bucks, but I’m an Alienware owner. 13dB signal and 2 quick disconnects for takedown. Like above I have max signal strength far beyond the “point of no return” distance.

Whatever you select, remember that even though signal strength is increased, all range extenders focus the control signal beam so orientation of the controller to the drone is more critical.

Did you guys do your own modification? Was it easy?

Picture please? I’d like a look at the quick connector.
Thanks

It is a bit tedious, but user instal is not difficult. Here’s the install video url on the website showing every step... about 30 min, took me a solid hour plus but I’m a bit OC. There are other options on the website. The appearance and connectors (2 finger screw rings) are best seen beginning about 9 minutes left in the video.

With the Titan Omni and whips not critical at all. Human nature and VLOS keeps us facing the AC.
When I put the directional antenna on, I can see the signal drop as I rotate to either side of the AC.

I have the titan switch panel, which is a bit on the large side. Then you add either another panel or the whip antennas. At that point, I had a little more wiggle going on than I thought was appropriate. The wiggle was coming from the plastic adapter that takes the place of where the stock antenna comes out. My solution was to make something that fit a little tighter.
After dealing with all that, I’m now looking at the alientech just because of it size.6D9318F3-F94F-4CA9-A078-34AC663F6252.jpeg9D6FFE93-3763-469D-9A28-DE910F41F78F.jpeg8E4A1D95-0CC1-4A93-A389-4061E48233DE.jpeg

Question... I purchased the 4Hawks XR to increase my range for the mavic pro 2, but do I also need to purchase and install some amplifiers? What do amps do and what are good ones for this situation? Anyone have any info on this or should the antenna upgrade be sufficient?

Amplifiers help the uplink only but not the downlink. They introduce additional point of failure , make the RC more bulky and heavy. I use passive antennas only.
