Needing a tablet use with my new Mavic, have been perusing the various conversations regarding Android verses Apple, anyway I have decided to go Android. After some feedback on weather this tablet would be up to task.

I hope someone answers you and they don't just say there are lots of old threads on this question. I too am looking an Android tablet and I have searched the older threads and some are outdated and others go into a ramble about something off topic or keep trying to steer you towards an Apple product.

I am very happy using my iPad 4 Mini, wifi and cell capable (so you get GPS chip) it fits the RC perfectly has a bright display, is well balanced and just works. Will occasionally use a sun shade but most times fly with my back to the sun.
Using cell phones is a pain unless you have more than one or no one calls you.
I have tried Apple phones (too small display), Android Tab E (apps keep crashing not bright enough) and Android phones S6 and S8 (people always calling and some app crashes).

Not pushing Apple products just my personal opinion and experience.

Try LG G Pad X8, been using this 1 since March of this year and experienced very negligible to zero problem with it. It's cheap, capable has very bright display and most importantly it has GPS.
Mine right now is on AOS 701 w/ App 412 on FW 400 very stable.
Hope this help.....you will need a tablet holder.
I also got a iPad Mini 4, it's a challenge to engage Sport mode when not using mount, awkward hand position, but very stable right now on IOS 11.1/GO 4 4.12/ FW 400.

I have the Asus Zenpad with Verizon. I used it a few times on my Mavic, it does fit in the holder similar to the iPad Mini 4, It isn't IMHO a good enough tablet to fly with, it was very laggy and lock up on occasion, this was after restarting the tablet and force closing all apps.
