Bound Pro4 mini

Hi,
I just received a second hand, bound Pro4 mini from ebay.

It was sold as previously bound. I contacted the seller and he said that he had asked the old owner to unbind it but he didn't.
Anyway, I've just tried it and it flies, but there's a limited number of flights, 2 left.

There's a drop down on the RC2 with a choice to UNBIND DEVICE it or CHANGE BOUND DEVICE

Any thoughts please?

That's a pity
I actually bought it knowing it could be like this, and thought 'we' might get round it, but I kind of bought it for spares once I'd crashed it, but it looks like I'm not even going to crash it.
It's new condition!

Sounds like the RC2 is still logged in to the previous owners account.Try unbinding it NOW from the RC2 before you lose this precious opportunity and get logged out.

You then should be able to create your own DJI account, log out of the previous owner's account on the RC2, log in to your new account, and bind it to you.

I tried to unbind it a couple of times, but it took me to a screen that said something like connect to network. This I tried using a hotspot, and it connected but I still had that screen, so the drone wouldn't connect, I also tried Bluetooth, but again, it wouldn't connect, I tried pushing the drone button for 4 seconds, and it looked like it was trying but didn't connect.
Then those 'precious' connections ran out Now brick

The drone being bound to the account should only limit you from getting flyaway protection. If you don't have the physical controller the drone was bound to then yes you have a brick. If you do have the controller it was bound to then you should be able to fly it unlimited times.

I have also just recently bought a binded M4P from my local pawnshop but it still have the 1yr DJI warranty (4-6 months left). My question if the drone is damaged and i submit the warranty claim using my address, will the repaired/new drone go to the original owners mailing address? I have not flown it yet since i just gotten it out of layaway (12/29/25) and still have 15 day warranty to return it.

The store manager knows me since i frequent the store and said the guy who brings in his stuff comes back and had tried his cell #(no response). Maybe something happened to him, who knows.

My guess is that if you have a written receipt from the place where you bought it, and contact DJI, they may sign ownership over to you, but unless you get the original owner to unbind it (assuming it's bound) then it's a brick. You may want to try binding it to you, in case it hasn't been bound.

Correctly said. As of June 2025 their unbinding policy is no more. Wish i could've bought it like in April or May but it didnt drop out of pawn until August.
