If you're lucky enough to receive a great drone for Christmas, please read the manual, checkout the YouTube videos BEFORE you send your shiny bird into the sky.

Don't try to fly it indoors, or outside in a small area. Take time to hover and fly around a very wide open space.

Your shiny expensive drone should then last for many months of enjoyment.

MONTHS!!!??? I hope it lasts longer than that! If it only lasts for months I'm gonna have to get a job.

But Mavic 57 is right. Before you open the box, before you read the manual, before you even shake the box to see what's inside; go up to the top of the page and search for "first flight crash". Spend two days reading those and then don't do ANY of those things.

I have had mine 10 months, I did not want temp fate by using years. But yes it should be good for a few years, I have flown over 700kms and 65hrs flying time, only crash, fortunately without damage was a quick and once only flight indoors.
