Personally I think the drone was just in their flight path in a cross wind. The brownish colouration of the bird an 5 seconds reminds me of a youngster, does that apply to the gulls around Lake Michigan ? I think I'd have been inclined to get the drone away from there as soon as the first wave passed i.e. at 10sec+.
