Last year I flew the Spark in -29 windchill. Now thanks to the Polar Vortex I just flew the MPP in -46 windchill. Anyone flown their drone in colder weather than this?

Fantastic , thank you for sharing this as I was comfortable flying -14 and this is going to give me that little bit of confidence to move into the mid 30's below with the Mavic 2 wet suits that keep in just a few degrees more heat in the battery.

Glad I could help. I made this video more informational instead of entertainment, but hopefully I can start making videos that do both.

Now I thought it was bad enough flying in temps of -3.5c last week but you guys have definitely got it bad. I bet you fly in a T-shirt with my above temp;)

Yeah, people are definitely spotted in T-shirts when it hits the 30s here. Even during the polar vortex someone in Minneapolis was spotting in shorts and their picture ended up on the Star Tribune. Haha!

I am not sure the wind chills reading makes much of a difference. I have found the coldest I can fly without errors is -30.
I flew both my Mavic pro’s at -32 and got sensor errors.
I tried again and flew 4 batteries at -28 with no problems.

WOW, good to know.

I am flying in 75 degrees in Florida, but loved the video. I really like it when the pilot shows themself in the scene, it gives a great perspective of where your coming from.
Can't wait until I can cut and post videos like that.

Glad you enjoyed it. And THANK YOU for the feedback. I haven't made too many films where I talk over my footage so I'm glad to hear it worked and got my point across. I think I could add more graphics or make the video more exciting, but hey... it's a start. Thanks for watching, and I'm going to try to make more commentary videos. THANKS!!!

I just did some mapping with my 2 Pro in Canada at -30C. Stopped flights at 50% battery and kept drone and batteries warm in between flights. The weakest part of the system was my iPhone which doesn’t like the cold. Died on me a couple of times

AGREED! I was using an iPad 4 Mini, and I noticed it isn't as responsive at colder temps, but I think all iPhones and iPads don't do well at cold temps. I'll use my Moto Gg5+ next time.

Try keeping a hand warmer behind the iPhone with large rubber bands (keep those warm too or Snap!) or use velcro, it works pretty well. Occasionally put one over the screen as needed too.
