Compass and imu calibration

Hey guys, just want to check if it's advisable to do your calibrations without GPS lock or indoors

IMU can be done indoors. For compass most users and also me prefer open areas free as possible of magnetic interference.

my question is when i do a IMU calibration it looks all good then the next day i fly.... my IMU will show 2, 3 and onewill be like at 24 or 12 something then eventually go back down.... so im just confused why it does this??

FWIW, I don't think the DJI GO app has ever prompted anyone to calibrate the compass. Better advice can be found in the Compass Calibration Guide.

I always check the sensor state in the app to "verify" the sensor states. I have never had to do a calibration since I cracked the box open.........

Bad advice. I was flying my Mavic and it was really hard to control/get it to go straight. Calibrated the compass and it flew like a dream. App never told me I needed to calibrate either.
