DJI Goggles Missing Diopter Adjustment

Yes, it is, especially that the only adjustment provided, dealing with an inter-pupillary distance between two lenses seems to be unnecessary, as it does not make much difference.
WALMART has some adjustable glass's that fixed that problem for me! My other problem with the Goggles are that you cannot change the Meter's to FEET! which to me could be a very serious Safety Issue for us and for DJI!

I thought I had perfect 20/20 vision but I found the goggles to be blurry for me. I went to Walgreens and purchased some 1.50 reading glasses and it's crystal clear to me now. These goggles truly should've come with a diopter adjustment.

I think I'll look around for some extra foam to pad the sides and the nose bridge piece to eliminate any light leakage issues and then the goggles will be a fantastic product for me.

@MisterMavic - wanted to give you a shout out- this is an EXCELLENT solution for me as I normally wear Bi-Focals and my close in vision is terrible. With the +5 Carson lenses, I can see the goggle picture perfectly. Reading glasses were out of the picture for me, as I still really need to put my Bi-Focals on after raising up the goggles as they are photochromic transition lenses and really help in the extreme bright sunshine.

The problem is that even reading glasses won't fix the problem as the screen is too large for the optics so you can't see the entire screen with each eye. This results in a non-sharp image which strains your eyes to see certain parts of the screen. For example, the flight information in the lower left corner. Cover one eye and read a book, you'll realize how much you need both eyes to see and how stressful it is to only see through one eye. This is how the goggles are for parts of the screen.

Also, instead of just having one screen with both eyes looking at it, they decided to use two screens with a complex mirror and polarized system so each eye would see two different screens. Why? Good question! If it was VR and it was 3D vision it would make sense. But, both screens display the same image so it makes zero sense why they did this. Far more expensive and I believe the optics problems are the direct result of this terrible design decision.

Finally, they're not designed for someone with 20/20 vision. The options are designed for someone who has myopia. If you have good vision, you'll have a problem seeing the screen because DJI screwed up the lenses. Some have suggested this is because something like 90% of Chinese have myopia and need corrective lenses to see at a distance. So, it's very possible that they designed the goggles for people with myopia and the result is those with excellent vision can't see the screen clearly.

In all, it's a huge design problem and a total fail for the goggles. As a result, they're about worthless.

You seem to have an agenda. Who *** * cares if you can't see the entire screen with one eye closed?? I enjoy flying with the benefit of both eyes open and I can see the entire screen just fine. Yes, I do need reading glasses so that's an issue. I have 20/20 vision. But simple reading glasses fixes the issue.

Hogwash. I let FOUR other people use the goggles this weekend while we were flying, all of whom have perfect, uncorrected vision. They said the goggles view was crystal clear perfect. You clearly have something wrong with your eyes, and just don't want to admit it.

My wife said the screen is perfect without the need for anything, I need the readers. Those who say they don't need reading glasses but the screen is blurry either do need readers and just never knew it, or there is always the possibility there is something wrong with their goggles. I only wore reading glasses when I had my contacts in and thought my close vision was good when I didn't have them in until I got the goggles. The fact that my wife can see them clearly without the need for reading glasses and I can't I can only come to one logical conclusion, I do need reading glasses even without my contacts. My wife is a lot younger than I am so I'm sure age plays a big role in it. I would guess the majority of people over the age of 50 like myself (52) would benefit from the use of reading glasses even if they feel they don't need them. After mounting the Carson lenses inside it is now a non issue. I don't need to make any adjustments except if I would need to take them out if someone else didn't need them in. I highly recommend using the 3M Dual Lock mounting tape over standard Velcro. With the Dual Lock tape they kind of snap in instead of more of a snag with Velcro. When removing them you just pull and they release not the tearing feeling and sound you get with Velcro. The other option that was posted with the cut off reading glasses and puddy that looked like big wads of chewing gum.... I don't even know what to say. I guess they are in there, hey I once saw a guy painting his car on the street with a can of paint and a brush. The car was painted black when he was done. We all have our standards of acceptable. Reminds me of my uncle who fixed or "improved" everything he owned with black electrical tape.

You probably do have 20/20 vision. The goggles were designed poorly with bad optics that require those with 20/20 vision to hack a brand new $450 set of goggles just to see. Don't blame your eyes, blame the goggles.

It's acceptable to add glasses if you already wear reading glasses. The issue is that there's design flaws with these goggles even for those with perfect vision at all distances that have never worn glasses.

You seem to be complacent of poorly designed products. Who cares if you don't mind seeing the entire screen? Some of us DO care. And those with perfect vision at all distances expect to see the screen without hacking a pair of brand new goggles with reading glasses and bubble gum! If you need reading glasses, you don't have perfect 20/20 vision at all distances like I do. Why would I hack a brand new set of goggles with reading glasses and bubble gum if I have perfect 20/20 vision at near distance and I've never worn glasses or reading glasses in my life? Makes no sense.

Design fail! DJI really screwed the pooch with this one (just like their terrible DJI Go app). But, I'm sure you'll defend that turd also. Who cares if the app crashes one or two times per flight? Right?

The flaw is that there is no adjustment for those who don't have perfect vision, people with perfect vision "DON'T" need to do anything. I can't get over how many people keep blaming the goggles because their vision isn't perfect and they actually need reading glasses but don't want to admit it. Don't say girls just aren't hot anymore because you can't get it up, get some Viagra and take care of the "real" problem. Neither are your fault nor does it make you any less of a man to admit it. DJI most definitely screwed the pooch by leaving out a way to focus the goggles, you can either face the problem and solve it or continue complaining about it. Like I said before, there is always the possibility there is something wrong with your goggles if your vision is indeed perfect and you can't the screen clearly. I can assure you if your goggles are functioning correctly and you do in fact have perfect vision the screen WILL be in focus.

No offence, but it's probably okay for your wife as she has no idea what to look for. The screen is a bit too close (even for those that don't need reading glasses), but that's only 1/3 of the problem. The other 2/3 of the problem is that you can't see the entire screen with both eyes so you don't get binocular vision for the entire screen. This causes it to to be hard to see (like you put a ping pong ball on the bridge of your nose, you can "see", just not well). Also, the mirrors and polarizer for two screens is totally unnecessary if the images are the same (like with these goggles). Why add to the cost with 2 screens? It's very hard to align two images like that, which also softens the image.

If you don't have good vision, or know what to look for, you can't adequately give a review. It would be like reviewing speakers and not being an audiophile. If you don't know what good is, you have no place giving a review.

Wrong! It's very hard to see and stressful on the eyes to read the flight data in the bottom left corner because both eyes can't see that information at the same time. Only the left eye can see it.

The reason why the goggles are unacceptable is BECAUSE I have perfect vision and have the experience to know what is good and what is bad. I've done 3D and stereoscopic application development for over 20 years, so I actually know what what it should look like. The proof is that you don't believe that binocular vision is important nor the convergence of two screens (that have ZERO benefit).

LOL! I CAN see the entire screen.

20/20 vision has little to do with being able to focus on object close to your eyes. When have you ever once had an eye test where they put something 6 inches from your face??

Now I completely agree that the goggles should've had a diopter adjustment on them. Yes, that's a design flaw. All decent cameras have this for a specific reason. It has little (and maybe nothing... not sure, I'm not an expert) to do with having perfect vision.

But your issue with closing one eye and not being able to see the screen is irrelevant. The goggles are intended to be used with both eyes. That's why they have two different screens. That's like saying that your bicycle is poorly designed because you can't easily peddle it with only one leg without modifying it.

Again - when you bring up topics out of left field just to whine about some other issue you have with DJI it's super clear that you have an agenda.

Yes, their Android DJI GO4 App is horrible. I agree. I'm an Android guy and I'm using an iPad just for flying my drone. I chose not to cry endlessly on an internet forum about shortcomings. I prefer to simply address them myself with known fixes.

But if you honestly feel that strongly about it - contact DJI. This forum isn't the place to make anything happen.

Now I'm not sure if you're a sexist or just plain stupid.
No reason to call names! If a WOMAN was the audiophile, I also wouldn't read a speaker review from her husband. The parallelism of your wife was only made because it relates to your own comment.

So it sounds like wearing progressives is out of the question ?
I have progressives and a mono set just for reading at arms length for the computer.
Also a drug store pair for +150 to see really small things like soldering or really small print on a black background.
I guess one of these might work huh ?

I wear progressives and when I first put the googles on with glasses. BLURRY!! I took them off and tried again..Perfect..I know that's not very scientific but it was as simple as that.
