Only in America does every individual think they are so interesting that someone with a drone would want to observe them. Sorry, but the American culture sucks. Those in charge are grew up in the Jerry Springer era, it's no wonder our entire country now looks like an episode of Jerry Springer

I would love to go back in time to the 1980s - pre-reality shows and social media. The country really changed after 9/11. No smartphones. MS-DOS was king of the desktop. No Linux. AIDS was a death sentence.
I don't want to go back to a time where people could smoke in restaurants or on airplanes.
We had this thing called the Berlin Wall, and the Cold War was an actual thing.
There was lead in everything: gas, paint, toys, whatever.
You could get fired for being ***. Arrested for a same-sex marriage
Air fare was a lot more expensive, and plane hijacking was still a thing.
FWIW, reality TV didn't really become a thing until the 21st century. We had the Real World in the early '90s, but reality TV as we know it didn't become part of prime time until Survivor came out in the early 2000s. Social Media didn't become mainstream until the mid-2000s.

Yep, I was a child of the 80s. Great time to be alive!
We played with friends outside instead of having our heads buried in smartphones doing Snapchat or making a TikTok.
We could take our bikes to the store without our parents having an anxiety attack that something might happen to us.
No online gaming. Your shared a room with your opponent, side by side.
No “trash TV” like Jerry Springer or the MTV reality shows that rotted people’s brains being labeled as entertainment that started the downward spiral.
We dealt with lead in stuff and lived to tell about it.
Computers were a new thing to households and learning to use such a powerful tool for productivity. So innovative. It was fun to monkey around, learning applications, open up a desktop PC, and also configure settings. Then using that knowledge to teach family. Now we’re stuck with uninspired mainstream operating systems like Windows 10 and 11.
Looking back, were the 80s/early 90s flawless? No. But it seems people just went about their lives happy instead of worrying over every little thing that might affect them negatively. Now we’re polarized by politics on a daily basis and the endless parade of issues that gets media attention. It’s a constant strain on mental health.

LOL, well I grew up in the 50's. A portable phone meant you had an extra long cord on it. TV had 3 channels, all of them black and white (in our house). Westerns, soap operas, talent shows, sport and news and on Saturdays, violent but funny cartoons. Take your pick. Radio - static filled am. In the summer, kids might leave the house at 8 am and not come home until dark and no one worried about it. Maybe our folks were hoping something would happen to us? No seat belts, crumple zones, air bags, helmets, we played sports in the street and rode in the back of pickup trucks. If you got hurt, you walked it off, and only the first three places got trophies of any kind.
