Drone Hibernation and RID

mavic3:
I double-checked the weight of my mini2:
drone + battery - gimbal cover = 241g
drone + battery - gimbal cover + skids = 252g (close enough)
drone + battery - gimbal cover + skids + one light = 258g
drone + battery - gimbal cover + skids + two lights = 264g
Conclusion: daytime flights ok; night flights over the limit.
I canceled registration for the mini2, but it stays in inventory marked cancel and I cannot finf any way to delete it entirely. I cannot see any way of changing the remote ID status to "yes" if I want to fly over 250g and get a module.
Is there anyway to do those things?

You cannot delete a government record entirely. It's there....forever. 😊

Get the module, register the module in your inventory. When you're ready to fly the Mini at night, link the module and the Mini together in the registration database.

@Captain Spock I don't think you need an RID module. But again, please contact the FAA directly if you have any doubts.

Hiya. We recently moved to Florida from New Mexico. Due to the timing of the move, a lot of our stuff remained in boxes for a long time i.e., a year. My mini2 and accessories were buried and I just opened the right box and gathered all my equipment. After charging, I did a couple of test flights and it all worked coming out of hibernation! But catching up on my reading here and elsewhere I found that a lot has progressed about RID. Bewildering cross references: : B4UFLY is gone, etc. some say "Yes" some say "No" on RID

BOTTOM LINE QUESTION 1: Do i need an RID module (mounted; mini2 not RID capable) as a recreational pilot who did TRUST and registered with the FAA in 2021?
SORTA BOTTOM LINE QUESTION 2: I would appreciate any thoughts and recommendations for external mounted RID for my mini2 "antique."
Have mercy; I am an old man . . .
I too am an old man with a mini 2, rec flyer with Trust . The mini 2 has no internal RID and won't need one if you stay a recreational flyer. Hold on to it, it's the only MINI without the tracker.
