FAA Drone Zone - Approved

I live in a Class D area due to a local regional airport without LAANC support, thus DJI Self-Authorization alone is not adequate even to fly in my backyard.

I submitted an FAA Drone Zone request Thursday last week, 1/4 mile radius around my house, 1 month duration (mostly to learn the process).

Request went from "Submitted" to "Under Review" in abut 30 mins on Thursday. State remained same all day Friday and thru the weekend. Approval came today (Monday) very early US Eastern time.

So, excluding the weekend, seemed to be a 1-day-ish delay gaining this approval. That's workable.

Thanks. I had often wondered about how long it takes. I assume this was for a Recreational User, and not Part 107?

Yes, simple recreational use.

I was careful to set my radius not to include the nearby 0 ft zone in that Class D space, as well as over a nearby Helipad and FAA center in my neighborhood
