Doesn’t nc ban landing/launching from pretty much every piece of public property and all private property without expressed permission?

I don’t have the cite handy but the rules looked scary to me.

Plus each municipality can create their own drone rules, so you need to first check the laws of each city and county on top of the state laws.

LOL no you aren't banned from "Every public property". The law is written to allow local municipalities the option/path to control land use but it's not an outright blanket ban on every property in NC. We fly from dozens of different locations each week sometimes flying for up to 8 hours a day in this state.

Sensitive structures/compounds (Jails/Prisons, courthouses etc) can be banned and Jails/Prisons are without written permission from the AHJ and usually requires an agent to be there to oversee the operation but that's just common sense IMHO.
