I just remembered that although advertised at 30fps it shows in FCPX as 29.97fps and '60fps' is 59.94fps. Im wondering if it makes any difference to have the project match these rates exactly or ok just to set to 30fps? Instinctively I feel I should match but im not super-experienced on the technical side. Experience welcome! thx

29.98 is more correct. It doesn’t make much of a difference but it would be better to use the actual frame rate. You can start a project with automatic settings so that FCPX will set the project to match the frame rate and resolution to the first clip dropped into the time line. That’s the easiest way to do it
