Gatwick Airport (UK) suspends flights due to Drone activity

Well there’s not been one single substantiated photo or video of either 67 drones or 67 sightings of one drone despite the thousands of cameras, both high tech and low tech abounding the area. Only several weeks earlier a police helicopter spotted a drone flying near it on thermal imaging and followed it to where it landed and then filmed the bloke collecting it and going back to his house. There were a purported THREE police helicopters flying around, even if there was just one, but reported three times, then how come it never saw any drone. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, I’m a normal sensible human being who believes that an absence of evidence is evidence of absence. I believe that it’s correct that the airport spends money
on bolstering it’s defences, the shareholders would be right to demand it because if it happened again, it would hit their revenue hard yet, to do nothing, having seen what a disaster it turned out to be, drone or no drone, would be at best daft, at worst, negligent, this little experiment has proven that airports are extraordinarily vulnerable.

I’ve seen that one, that unsubstantiated one. I’ve seen the one taken at nighttime of a drone, and used by all the major news channels, which turned out to be a helicopter. Not sure why you would think I was even going to suggest it was a plastic bag when it is clearly a drone flying somewhere in England. Judging by the accents, it sounded like Essex, but they could have been waiting for a plane or a bus!!. I suspect the footage was sold to the mail as being from Gatwick.

Yep. Seen that one. That unsubstantiated video of a drone, somewhere over England. Maybe Gatwick ,but equally could be a bus stop in Essex, judging by the accents.
Also I’ve seen the one taken at night time supposedly the first video of the drone over the airport, and syndicated by all the news channels. Turned out to be a helicopter.
I believe there may have been a drone at some point, albeit very very briefly, so briefly that no photos exist because it was up and gone very quickly, certainly not hanging around for 36hrs, but the reaction to it has bordered on hysteria by the directors, staff and media and turned into a national laughing stock. Now the directors have bolstered the defences, they can be confident that even if there’s just a mere threat of a drone flying near the airport, then their defences can deal with it.

Man Many of you people Sure support fascist/communist oppressive rules, Specially you Brits. You don’t punish the whole of the Community because of a criminal, you find the criminal And punish them. If your police are incompetent and can’t find them, take them to task. But then I sometimes forget socialist countries like to punish law abiding citizens for criminals actions. I’ve never understood this childish mentality where people want a nanny state to regulate everything and oppress them.

I'm more maverick than you'll ever know pal.....the problem with drone flying here in the UK is there is absolutely no fecken where to fly.
It's a small country unlike the states which is a vast land and each state has its own laws etc.
I want to fly my drone for miles and NOT get jail time or fined for doing so...being a drone owner for no more than 3 weeks,if I knew then what I know now then I'd have spent my money on sex,drugs n rock n roll and kicked the drone world well n truly into touch.

Not to introduce a new debate or mud slinging... but that is one small reason to have a Yuneec H520 or H480 in the Kit... doesn't have NFZ logic in the controllers. No attacks guys... just mentioning it! Merry Christmas to all....Hoo Hoo!
