I did search but couldn't find a cure for my curiosity. For long range testing on most moving objects aerodynamics is typically a focus for fine tuning. Curious if modded or otherwise long range testing should be done With the gimbal dome On? Seems like while this would add a very small amount of extra weight the trade off would be a very smooth and rather aerodynamically improved front nose cone. Yes I know it would add heat and no I'm not considering this due to intake obstruction. Just thinking this or other (butter the fuselage, round the legs, etc) must have been played with by some of the long range test pilots. While the Mavic is pretty stealth I wouldn't define it's body panels or front end as streamline. Just assumed with all the creative modders out there and tricks to squeeze 1 extra foot out someone must have tested the gimbal cover on theory in cooler weather. Just random out loud thinking.
