Have wanted one for a long time and think I am gonna bite the bullet and get my feet wet. Have been doing a lot of research and pricing. Seems like DJI is a leading maker of drones. Some of them use the same technology that we find in our depth finders. Many have sensors to help you avoid running into things and landing safely.

Have my eye on a Phantom 4 Pro....has a range of a little over 4 miles. Not to crazy about getting in a small airplane and going over our state. This is the next best thing. Have 240 acres of land...deer and wildlife....would love to catch some of that wildlife in its natural state with a decent camera. And no, I don't hunt deer....if I shoot them it will be with a telephoto lens.

Hope to learn from fellow posters....hoping to get it before Christmas....looks like B & H will be where I pick it up. Amazon will supply me with the acc. that I need.

Hello @drifter106, welcome to the forum. Greetings from San Diego.

If your decide to purchase the Phantom 4 Pro I would recommend becoming a member of the Phantom Pilots Forum for information more pertinent to that drone.

Enjoy your new view of Kansas!

Welcome to Mavic Pilots!:) Enjoy the forum!Thumbswayup

Welcome from the land of Oz, Love all my drones, but had to do a fair bit of research before I bought my first one. I love my Mavic's but must admit the the Phantom 4PV2 is my favorite. Anyway, plenty of info on this forum to help you along.
Regards

Welcome to the Pro Family either the Mavic 2 Pro or the Phantom 4 pro both are a good choice.

Welcome to the forum. We look forward to your participation and your view of the world.

Welcome from Kansas City Missouri (just down the road from you a bit!) I pop in from time to time to catch up on all things Mavic,. I can't speak to the Phantom series, but if you are able to swing it (and it if it connects with Phantom) you really should consider FPV Goggles to get the full experience of flying without actually leaving the ground!
