New to Mavic and new to drones and will no doubt need your help and advice along the way.

This looks like a really good place to be.

I live in Scotland, and feel very fortunate to have access to a Mavic 2 Pro and Fly More Kit and Ipad Mini4 cellular, though I don't know how to use any of it yet .

Starting from scratch and booked on a PfCO course next month, so everything to learn.

Welcome, I travel a bit and was in your wonderful country for a week just about 3 years ago. Had a great time and can certainly imagine how much fun a drone there will be. I'd say go slow and watch every YouTube video you can find for setup and operation as a new owner.
