5,000 meters is 16,404.2 feet.5,000m is 14,000 feet [ASL] - The OP wants to fly around 10,000ft - so there's some room in there yet!

Sounds good i feel better knowing that im still new to flying so didn't know what to expectI fly at 10,000 feet every summer in Colorado and have noticed no difference in speed or flight time.
I live in Denver im going up to crested butte. And i try to stay out of the hot weather as it is. Im going to just fly a little at a time while its cool to get the hang of any differences
Mavic air 2 for aircraft
We Canadians were chuckling at that math....thanks for the correction to that post. ??5,000 meters is 16,404.2 feet.
Ahhh what's a couple thousand feet among friends, being that i am limited to 400 feet AGL in Florida. We Canadians were chuckling at that math....thanks for the correction to that post. ??
You need to get out of the FL flatlands, and try drone mountain climbing!Ahhh what's a couple thousand feet among friends, being that i am limited to 400 feet AGL in Florida.
I would love that, I envy you pilots that can fly that beautiful area, although i do have the ocean. You need to get out of the FL flatlands, and try drone mountain climbing!
I like flying along the beach and the surf and the ocean, too!I would love that, I envy you pilots that can fly that beautiful area, although i do have the ocean.
Its pretty neat flying along the beach looking for sharks and tarpon.
Correct! If you are climbing the mountain with the drone, the 400' is relative the the ground below the aircraft, and not the height above your launch point..
Last time I looked there were just over 3.25 feet to 1 metre. Therefore 5,000 metres = 16,250 feet. Therefore the craft's ceiling ASL would exceed your estimate of 14,000 feet by a further 2,250 feet.5,000m is 14,000 feet [ASL] - The OP wants to fly around 10,000ft - so there's some room in there yet!
Anything higher than that, and you might as well be using Google Earth!Yes, that is correct.
Not 400 feet above sea level. But 400 feet above the ground it is over.
Last I checked 16,404.2 feet was more than 16,250 feet.Actually slightly more at 16,250 feet.
You're correct. Late night here in the UK and eyes befuddled at watching all the marches going on in AmerIca! I don't know what "Siri" is, but by my old fashioned method of calculation I made it 16,406 feet and one quarter of an inch. Makes one realise how NASA got their calculations wrong when grinding the mirror on the Hubble space telescope! Imperial versus metric what a palaver!Last I checked 16,404.2 feet was more than 16,250 feet.
Siri confirms 5000m is 16,404.2 feet.
She's never wrong, even when she is! ?
I've been running both systems in my head since grade 7 when they dropped the metric bomb on us kids in Canada. My math struggles in highschool were not helped by Systems International. Bah!You're correct. Late night here in the UK and eyes befuddled at watching all the marches going on in AmerIca!
