how to remove distance and heght restriction

I bought my mavic pro drone htis week and its great. First flight up today and I could not exceed the 120m altitude ceiling even though I was not in a restricted area, and my drone could not fly more than 500 metres away. I am not sure where to change these settings?

any help would be much appreciated

The maximum flight altitude can be set in the following section of DJI GO:

Disable the max distance setting in the following section of DJI GO to remove the distance limitation:

Could it still be set up on beginner mode? it's in the same pictures that msinger posted just above set max altitude. Just with you saying it was your first flight today.

Doubt it's beginner mode. I flew in Beginner mode few times, and it limited me to about 40 feet altitude. 120m is quite a lot more.
