iphone7 slow boot time and bad sim card reader okay for flying?

Hello. Newb here...So, I plan to use an iphone 7 plus with GO 4 with my MP. My concern is that it take about 4 minutes to boot after being turned off. No other problems at all and it ALWAYS goes to home screen at about the 4 minute mark. No sudden reboots or other problems. Also, This phone was given to me by a coworker who said the "sim card reader was broken and needed to be replaced" (I don't plan to ever use it for service). Just looking for input regarding safety concerns with flying with this device in this condition. Thank you.

Also, WIFi and GPS are working perfectly fine.

Are you saying the phone randomly reboots? If so I would not use it.

No. The phone does not randomly reboot. But when it is booted from being powered off, I have to stare at the apple logo for about 4 minutes. I'm pretty sure I can fix the slow boot problem. The damaged sim card reader was more my concern.

Try it, but stay close by and run a few batteries before you get brave with it.
I can tell you that a 7plus in good working order works like a champ.
