Just a ribbon?

IMG_20170313_025734.jpg My gimbal is no longer working and I see that ONE ribbon appears to be the problem. It has a sticker end and looks as if it was just taped somewhere. Does that end insert and transmit data or does it just provide tension?

I guess I don't care what it does or doesn't do, I'm not about to take this apart myself and I don't have refresh / care so what's my next step?

Try to calibrate the drone, if the gimbal is stabilizing, the ribbon belongs to the data transmission, if you get the image on you DJI go app, and the gimbal is not stabilized, it means that the ribbon belongs to the power. If you don't have any insurance on this, you better go and find a drone shop, with a specialist who would be able to be more precise than me and maybe find a way to fix this, doesn't look very bad.
Last question, how did you broke that???

It won't calibrate or do anything from the remote (besides record or take photos). Everything regarding the unit works fine otherwise.

I'm curious if anyone else has had this exact problem and if so, was DJI the best solution and what was the price point if so? Again, I do not have the Refresh / Care package.

The gimbal ribbon cable will definitely need to be replaced. You can buy a new gimbal ribbon cable from FStop Labs here.
