Litchi Radar... How does it work?

I'm new to the Litchi app. I relied on the radar in DJI GO 4, but the Litchi radar seems to work differently. My Mavic was about 200ft. away, and the Litchi radar showed the drone's location right in the middle of the radar screen.

How exactly does the Litchi radar work?
