I have not flown my mavic 2 and quiet a while. So when I went to fly with the old DJI app it would not connect. I tried a couple other apps from the Android play store and can't get them to connect either. I'm sure there's something out there that I don't know about because I've been out of the picture for so long. And I don't want to have to pay for a subscription just to get it after work. I have a litchi app that I downloaded a long time ago, would that still work?

... OR... You can download older archived copies of DJI GO4 from Apkmirror. They are all the legit DJI versions that haven't been pissed about with.

Also: a word of advice concerning Play Store... if you have difficulty running certain (Chinese) apps on an android device - try turning 'Play Protect' OFF.

You need the DJI GO4 app downloaded directly from the DJI website. They stopped putting their apps on playstore at least a year ago. Just download from DJI and you'll be all set, provided your phone is compatible. It's good idea when you upgrade your phone to keep the old one just for droning if it works good.

The M2 uses DJI GO 4, not Fly.

You misread the post, he said he went to fly with the old DJI app, not that he used the DJI Fly app, its ok I did that as well

Funny thing as I hadn't flown my M2Z in awhile either. Had issues, sent it to DJI for repair, and got it back in 10 Days. I was VERY impressed with DJI service for their speedy repair and many phone calls to see how well it worked for me. But my zoom works great and I must use it more.

It still is a fantastic drone carrying a stunningly good camera that is also the only consumer class drone to have a genuine optical zoom. My Mavic 2 Pro is great for quality 20mp stills... but the super-resolution pano shots captured by the Mav 2 Zoom are jaw-droppingly good.

I agree! With the current tariff pricing and the new Mavic 4 Pro unobtainable in the USA my M2Z will serve me well. I do have the older Mavic Pro, Min 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro but in a stiff wind here over Lake Ontario the M2Z has it's place. And even if the M4P was available in the US $2,200 is pricey.

Have you done any updates to enable RID on the drone? I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are now requiring you to have that installed and enabled.

That was one of the reasons I had it repaired as it was RID compliant. Didn't want to add a new Holystone RID to it when it could be compliant already with just a download (unlike my Mavic Pro). I updated it and registered the RID on the FAA website

Well, that rules out lack of updates. Getting the app from DJzi as mentioned would be my next try. Also go through the reconnect procedure as if it is a new drone after you do that. My M2P works fine still, along with Litchi and VLM online.

Just saw this- apparently you’re not alone with this issue. one guy said the goggles still work with his, interesting issue…

Well so one problem fixed and another one pops up. Now the battery in my remote is junk. I started my flight with 68% battery and before my flight was even halfway done the remote was down to 12%. I know I can buy a whole new remote, but that's a lot of money for just a remote. Also I have my remote remote modified to have external antennas screw into it. Because I have it set up to attach to a antenna on my roof and I can fly from inside my house. So is there somebody out there that can replace the batteries in a remote or at least sell me some good batteries and I'll try to do it myself?

It's an easy enough process. The video link will walk you through it

You may find that it isn't the battery that's causing the problem. There is a dedicated battery management chip on the controller core board and this has a tendency to burn out. You can actually purchase a genuine replacement chip, but the removal and refitting of the replacement isn't something anyone without micro electronics experience will be able to easily tackle.

Link below for the battery.

Link below takes you to the replacement I/C.
