I just purchased a new Mavic 2 Zoom and also bought a polarized filter for it. I can not for the life of me get the stock lens cover off. I have tried the rubber gloves trick and nothing, I tried the rubber band trick and zilch. I even took sticky rubberized mat we have in the RV cupboard and cut a small strip I wrapped around the lens cover and very carefully used a slip lock poker and still nothing. Please does anyone have any suggestions?

Im going to suggest you leave it alone and this is why.

DJI does there best to put a seal on that lens, so you do not get
any moisture inside of it.

The problem with breaking the seal is that you will never ever get it on as tight as they do.

You can research those have the problem with the fog and mist, getting inside the lens .

I would also say there is a good chance your going to damage the gimball if try any harder.

I know you want to put those filters on but when you do , you will loose some integrity of the lens cover.

You shouldn't brake any seal by installing a filter, the camera is designed to take filters that go over the lens by a simple push & twist.

I used a rubber thing made to help remove caps off jars and it came loose fairly easily. Make sure you are turning it counterclockwise. I always just store the clear filter in the case where the dark filter is, and put it right back on after removing the filter again. Support the camera very well with your other hand so you don't put any pressure on the gimbal.

Thanks for the tip but I have tried everything. I might see about sending it back so they can remove it at dji

I was about to give up, but gave it one more try and it worked. They use a tiny amount of glue when fitting the original cover. Just make sure you don’t put pressure on the gimbal, tricky manoeuvre but it can be done, twist the lens cap only... you can see where the cap and casing gap is. Good luck... my new filters work great.

Should be a push in and twist motion, although I have ran into two of them that just wont budge, some of them come right off. They are made to be removed for filter changes but many pilots don't recommend it, like what was stated above.
