So I have LAANC authorization to fly autonomous bi weekly or monthly loops around a construction site for the next 2 years near HFD airport which is a class D airspace SW of Hartford. The flight area is mostly in a 200' AGL cell with a sliver though the 0' AGL cell.
The loop has the drone transiting roads, parking lots buildings in a .6 mile loop for 5 mins. I'll expect to be transiting people, any who may be in any parking lots around the perimeter of the project site.
I created the loop in the Litchi Mission Hub, tested it in Google Earth after setting the FOV in the text file to match the M3Pro camera's FOV 84. After a few tweaks, converted it from kml to csv then imported it into kmz format, copied it to SD card and loaded it into the DJI RC Pro. What a production.
Now flying this M3Pro at what 958 grams weight over this urban area has me considering the risks. Now I am transiting over a lot of urban area so that a parachute sounds like a good idea.
I am looking at the Manti 3 Plus with a deceleration of 5.5m/s 5m/s from 25 meters this sounds like a safe bet for under $200. Question is has anyone used these, with any results with emergency crashes? Maybe throw on some prop guards to prevent lacerations? Belts and suspenders.
Thanks for any input.
