The actual sign up link for this program can be found here.

While the idea of receiving a free Mavic Air sounds incredible, those who receive one will need to complete some unknown tasks in order to keep it. Here's what the details of the offer state:

"Chosen applicants are required to sign an "Equipment Loan Agreement" before acquiring a trial Mavic Air. By signing the Agreement, they are obligated to complete specified content tasks required by DJI. If the quality of content tasks exceed the standards set by DJI, users may be allowed to keep the trial Mavic Air, free of charge. All other users will be required to return their trial Mavic Air by a specified deadline. For more details, please refer to DJI specialists and the Agreement."

Agreed Mike, but seemingly you need to order one first, apply to be a 'reviewer' and then go thru due process.....
Marketing at its finest!

Yes, it's oddly worded. I'm assuming they are going to give out DJI Store coupons that cover the entire purchase.

This seems logical that you need to buy one first, otherwise what's going to stop you from doing a "runner" with the free drone. As with any test drive you need to leave a deposit of some type

It is a bait and switch in that you might like it so much, you decide to keep it.

I wonder what would have if there was a "convenient" flyaway and you had the log to prove there was a fault, but couldn't locate the AC ;) LOL, I wonder what the situation would be then.

You could say it was a flyaway and not return it LOL

Oh no no no!
I agree but if I buy one, and its ****, I'm going to say so!!!
Here we have DodJi asking for more beta testers...... that are bound by contracts and stuff!!!
All those reviews that Msinger put up from YT are *&%@!!!! All those so called 'reviewers' should be taken with a grain of salt!

All those reviews that Msinger put up from YT are crap!
Even if you believe all of those reviewers are not being genuine (at least some of them must be biased), there are a lot of nuggets of information that can be gathered from those videos.

Oh yes Sir, look, any information, (intelligence gathered) is good intell no doubt.
We wont know for sure untill 'real' troops get on the ground. (or in the air!)

All of you who are only waiting for the MP2? The MA was clearly not released as an upgrade to the MP/MPP.

FWIW, I'm an MP owner and I pre-ordered the MA.

Have you seen the rrp in AUD it's insane for a upgraded spark that still has wi-fi and an amazing 21 minutes of flight time , NOT!!!

Have a look at annoucement video when they are demonstrating APAS , at 12.55 in the video the pilot has to flick his control stick to get the AC to climb over the tree, this ain't automatic.

I noticed that too. It was probably nothing more than a technical glitch. As many of us know (some unfortunately from bad experiences), DJI's automation is not perfect.

I agree it could be a technical glitch but what if it happens when you are really flying at 17.9 mph and you have a glitch.

I understand APAS works up to 8 m/s (17.9mph) but doesn't the Mavic vision system work up to 10 m/s (22.5mph) , am I reading this wrong ? Wouldn't the MP be more effective then

More effective obstacle avoidance, as still works when travelling faster
Not sure. I guess we'll need to see how the MA really operates once DJI starts shipping out.

Do you really have full confidence that your MP/MPP is going to avoid all obstacles and fly full force toward them? Sounds dangerous. I'm assuming most people try to fly above and/or away from obstacles.

FWIW, obstacle avoidance in the MP is not perfect (and it's been out for quite some time now). There are countless posts of people describing how the MP comes to a dead halt when flying toward the sun.

Agree , with your sentiments. that's why I don't see APAS as a truly awesome feature as most experienced pilots would fly around an obstacle as you suggest.
And most would not put there drones in a situation where APAS would be better than the MP obstacle avoidance.

This is why I don't see APAS as differentiator. as a experienced pilot will never use it
