Extended battery on the M5P will trigger RID and will put your drone overweight so it needs to be registered in the US. However, you get the benefits of the longer flight time.

Here's one source for a genuine DJI M5P Plus battery for a reasonable price, delivered by FedEx quickly, and with no additional fees.

eBay seller is from Japan 🇯🇵

Not yet. I might be in the market for one more Plus battery and then I get one aftermarket generic to wrap up the M5P; 6 in total should be fine.

Actually, in the U.S., RID is already broadcast with the standard M5P battery, so there is no "triggering" of it by any heavier battery. All batteries used in the M5P now broadcast RID, regardless of weight, and pilot registration is also required with all batteries, as no battery configuration is below 250g. Might as well always fly with the Plus batteries for 50% more flight time for a few dollars more.

Hello, I have a question about the Plus batteries. My Mini 5 Pro still has the CO label. I can now buy a Plus battery. Can my Mini 5 still fly with the Plus battery if it still has the CO label? Or will it be blocked until I re-register it as a C1?

Yes you will need it to be C1.

It can fly with the Plus battery with the C0 label, but it isn't legal to do so until you convert it to a C1 registration.

Okay, thank you. How long does this C1 classification take?
You need to contact DJI and have them officially and permanently change the serial number classification from the default of C0 to C1, and I believe the sticker is already in the kit to apply to the drone, and you need to send a picture of proof of changing it. Could be just a phone call or maybe a week if they need to change a database somewhere in batch mode.

Hi, I was just briefly considering them, since these batteries are supposed to have 5000mAh, but who knows if that's actually the case.
Since I'm flying to Bangkok in January, I'll get some batteries there.
I hope I can find the Plus batteries at the DJI shop there.
