Trying to figure out if I want one. Has very limited range,like 170 ft or so. So its only useful for very close work.

I think that's the range without any controllers only.

You don't want to fly this little drone too far from you anyway. But as mentioned, with the controller, you get a further range.

I bought one mostly to do selfies. Mostly to capture videos on my motorcycle stopped or at very slow speed.

Some complain that the camera isn’t great, but what do you expect for $199? I did buy the combo that comes with the extra batteries.

Some of the videos I saw were actually pretty decent. Certainly not pro quality, but pretty good for what I plan to use it for.

All my controllers are compatible with it, but I may just try it and always use it with just AI or my phone.

I think a really great drone to add to my collection.

I agree, I have heard that in several YouTube reviews. I ordered mine from DJI and for some reason they will not start shipping to USA until October 6th or 8th.

But that is one of the first settings I plan to change.

It's a good little drone I've managed to get 800 meters out in sport mode 19mph winds 26mph gusts at 75 meters in sport mode 14 minutes total flight time footage isn't bad not the best but not bad

For the money, it's a great drone. And those that expect more from it are delusional. Sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone, but what more do you expect for the price?

My point exactly it handles wind better than advertised and I've flown in rain multiple times and i know transmission range in fcc is 12km and ce where I flew is 6km but I didn't expect the range i got in a built up city area flying from the garden i also didn't expect it to survive rain so it's exceeded its price value for me so much I'm looking forward to the pro lol I might even buy another as their so cheap so I can motor swap it and experiment with battery's

A toy? Ten, even five years ago this would have been an absolute bargain at four times the cost. In capable hands it’s a great drone and can deliver impressive results.

For sure, I'm thinking toy as in outward appearance or public perception for example you are not likely to see the NEO featured in a serious new pieces about drones. Otherwise, the tech is really advanced thanks to DJI but in order for NEO to sell bigly, it's going to have to appears to the age range and the use cases that are common associated with the $99 and below range as opposed to the $1000 and up range. Yeah 10 years ago, the NEO would have probably cost $1000.
