One would expect that the city would have a process to vet any prospective UAS professionals before awarding contracts. That’s just normal business practice.

When does the city decide to vote on it? This will be a big opportunity when this happens.

Building inspection in a big city can be lucrative and challenging, especially around tall buildings. This is not your typical EZ fly job, you have to secure the area under the operation (no pedestrians and extra crew to handle blocking traffic), you will most likely occasionally lose GPS signal here and there (no GPS hold and all of a sudden you are drifting) and winds aloft can be very strong and "swirly".

I was on the crew for inspecting buildings in San Francisco a couple years ago and it was extremely challenging. Although we had a brand new Inspire at our disposal, we ended up using the Phantom 4 pro.

All that said, yes getting a contract like that could definitely pay well, but you need all your ducks in a row

Safety will and should be primary when it comes to these type of inspections.

I guess they'll have to take down those "if you see a drone call 911" signs
