Official Mavic 2 Range Leaderboard

Your current entry is a part of history for this leaderboard! There is no reason for me to remove you from the list unless you want me to. Just because you are no longer participating does not remove you.
You have a record.
Are you sure you want me to remove the entry in its entirety?

No that’s totally fine! I’m more than happy to stay up there, just will no longer be participating LR with the mp2, it’s been a blast and thanks for all that have giving me there time and great knowledge [emoji1598][emoji1598]

Very nice run! You have moved up to 3rd in the Stock Class! Congrats!
Do you feel that the SC has given you a better advantage?

Feels like weather was more favorable this time :).
As for comparison between stock and smart controllers — they both can handle larger distance in FCC mode than stock battery can handle. Ofc all this applies to open field without much interference. Flying in urban area gives me same feeling with shorter distances like 7-8 kilometers for both smart controller and stock+ipad mini.

Hope someone can help me with a question about range. My Mavic2 does not even come close to the specs. No matter where I fly, somewhere around 2000' distance I start getting notices of "weak signal, adjust antenna". Somewhere between 2000' and 3000' I lose signal altogether. What could be limiting my range? Is it more likely a problem with the aircraft, or with the remote control, or with my iPhone, or even with external factors like satellites, wifi, or cellular?!?

The specs are prob meant for "near perfect conditions", the fact that you're getting 2000+ means you can prob rule out your a/c and controller as the fault.
Most likely environmental issue. Be happy for now and keep looking for new places to fly.[emoji106]

2.4 or 5.8? What does the signal graph look like for each band in your area?

I tried using 10x10 degree panel antennas but is becomes very difficult to keep them aimed at your bird precisely. I have found 30x30 degree panel antennas the best bang for the buck and plenty strong for what we do.

BTW - yours is the second best arsenal I have yet seen

looking for plate antenna with more wide sector to use with car mount remote control gimbal and with black 8w ampl
all completed, just looking for antenna.
please advise

Board updated! @Aumoe!
Guess your still doing it with the 8000? Keep it up! I know you are at your limits now!
I guess that's what makes you #1 on Modifieds! It is A Amazing Feat!!!! Thumbswayup
Ok first of all; That's impressive!!! I just got done watching the video and i wanted to ask if the aircraft senses or recognizes the additional mah from the extra battery?

You don't have to do anything , the batteries voltage/meter will just not drop as fast as it does normally . You can see it in top left of video . You will need to change a few parameters for best results

How are people getting 36000 feet stock with 56% battery left when I barely made it 25000 feet and turned around at 50% battery?

Lots of variables, maybe they had a fresh battery.I know I could get longer distances with a new one than I can get
with the same battery a year later. Wind , just because it
might not be none where you started it might have been farther off. Might have stayed low the whole trip.
Hey..might have been the driver.?

Yes, as dirkclod mentions, there are many variables.
Would like to see your Airdata. You have a decent range, so why not get on the board?;)
