I have quite some experience in editing still photos but I am new to color grading of video. My impression is that the principles are similar after watching related Youtube tutorials.

Today I tried doing it with PowerDirector 14 which I bought a few years ago. I have captured several short footages with my DJI Mavic 2 Pro using the following color profiles :

H264 ( 8 bit ) normal
H265 ( 10 bit ) Dlog-M
H265 ( 10 bit ) HLG

I tried to open up the shadow by using the shadow and exposure slider in Fix/Enhance -> color adjustment . However, I was unable to get more details in the shadows of the H265 footages. I am thinking may be PowerDirector 14 cannot make use of the additional information in 10-bit codecs ? Will appreciate if someone can shed some light on it.

Thanks in advance

I also work with power director, which has some basic color grading possebilties. You should also have a look on their product called
Colordirector. It can be used as a plugin in Powerdirector and to me looks more like the eviroment one is used from Lightroom etc.

Best regards
