Prop strike?

Sometime after lifting a water balloon (about 13 oz weight), I noticed the tips of my MAS rear props had hit the M2P side camera opening, as shown. The MAS prop is slightly longer than stock, and the flexure of the rear arms allows the impact shown. When lifting a load, I get occasional "landing" warnings - I attributed that to my takeoff altitude of almost 5,000'. Looks like the prop strike may have been the culprit.

Any one else notice this?

Note: I fixed the slight burr on the prop by putting the tip on a flat surface and then rubbing it with a spoon.

Wow - the rear motor arm has obviously pivoted upward to make this happen - due to the weight of the load slung below.
Did you get this happening on both sides?

The other side comes very close, but doesn't tough when trying to flex the arm upwards. I have a "spare" new (only test flown) M2 and will compare.

Looks like this has exposed a bit of vertical 'flex' in the joint at the base of the rear motor arm.

Yes it has. I have a spare M2, rear arms do not flex up nearly as much. Looks like I may have to take it apart.

An emery board (nail file) will do the trick, also, with a touch up using modelling silver paint, some painter’s tape and a sable brush. (But a $NZ30 set of prop guards is even better ....... ? ) ?

I think the issue was that the Water Balloon was well over 13 Ounces.
The other issue is you need to keep the hook where you attach it near the front of the unit .

We have only see this with the Master Props in tough winds.

I think the issue was that the Water Balloon was well over 13 Ounces.
The other issue is you need to keep the hook where you attach it near the front of the unit .

We have only see this with the Master Props in tough winds.

No, it was not well over 13 ounces, I weighed the balloons. Position is near mid point as determined by the Chinese made "throwing" device. No option to move it without redesigning the clamp which has a hole to reach battery button.

My wife says, she is not designed for cleaning the kitchen - nevertheless, she does a good job doing so as if she was designed for that task. So why should we believe drones were not originally designed to lift up waterballoons?

No, it was not well over 13 ounces, I weighed the balloons. Position is near mid point as determined by the Chinese made "throwing" device. No option to move it without redesigning the clamp which has a hole to reach battery button.

The Reason I suggested over 13 Ounces is because :

Because one of our clients flys the Mavic 2 with the Spot Lights and the hook and the life jacket well over 500 ft and our not having this issue and there using the master screw props and the Wet Suit . Which is closer to 19 ounces .

That is why it was not adding up for me.

I have two M2P's, I'm using the new one (spare) until I get a chance to repair the original one that had the prop strikes. The new one has hardly any upward flex in the rear arm pivots compared to the older one. So I'm figuring that's where the problem lies.
