My brother-in-law was given a Mavic Pro (circa 2016 I believe) from his son, who (as I understand it, got it from a friend). Three (bad) batteries, case, drone & camera cover, plus a plethora of cables & battery charger. So, since I have a Mini 4P, he asked me to take a look at it. Looks to me like it was never flown, in very nice condition. It does, however need new flight batteries (one of the three is bloated, the other two won't take a charge) and a battery in the controller (that's dead as well). And, I do understand that he will need the Remote ID and licensed with the FAA.
I've been reading the posts on this forum about this drone to try to catch up on controller software...
However, before we start putting money into this drone, I was hoping to find out if this drone is registered, that it could be released by the original owner and re-registered, or didn't they lock registration for this model?
Any suggestions where I start to solve this puzzle would be appreciated.
Sir Michael
