Hey Guys! I am considering a Mavic Pro but need to make sure the camera will serve what I am looking for. I need to be able to take pictures of apartment community roofs (typically long buildings) and be able to zoom in on the pic once back at the office to count the rows of shingles. Can anyone provide feedback or better yet shoot some pics and load them up here! Really appreciate your help!

IMG_0231.PNG This is a screenshot of a Mavic image (from Facebook) of my mate's house being built. So not even at full res. I think the Mavic would be ideal for your purposes.

Obviously if you were more interested in just the roof you'd get a bit closer!

My dad was curious how his chimney was looking. So I shot it for him.

When he called the chimney people there first question was how did you get those pictures...

Hope this helps your decision

Just tell them your "brother works for NASA, amazing the quality of images from the satellites these days". And "don't tell anyone as I don't want my brother getting in bother"!

I hope this wasn't the 'after' pic from the chimney repair. If so I'm sure the chimney company was shocked that someone could quality control there work up there... looks pretty crappy!... great shots though..

I agree it looks terrible. They were back at the house the following day re-doing it.

I really recommend using Mavic Pro for any roofing shots or videos. See my example here at this link on youtube
