I’m currently flying an M4P and am looking to dip my toe into photogrammetry and volumetrics.

I’m not aware of any aftermarket RTK add-ons for the M4P. Is there a budget-friendly solution for high-accuracy capture using NTRIP or PPK? RTK models are quite a significant investment.

PPK kits are way too heavy for your little guy to carry in any meaningful way.

Are you sure you need RTK or PPK. You can make very nice relative accuracy maps and models that have use cases.
If you go the centimeter accurate route, you will need an RTK service or your own base to send corrections to your drone and will have to do some studying on datums, coordinate systems and projections to output quality data.

You could just buy a GNSS Base like an Emlid unit and lay and mark Ground Control Points. This is a proven way to introduce accuracy into photogrammetry. But just to dip your foot into it would be overkill. This GNSS Base would need RTK corrections from a service or be setup on a quality known point for absolute accuracy.

Thanks for the info. Confirms what I already thought I knew. The Emlid equip is almost as much as the M3E RTK.

There are lower priced GNSS units such as Spark Fun and others on Amazon. I just have no experience on them.
Another member who has a Spark Fun setup may read this and chime in with better information on it.

Another problem is receiving corrections or setting up on a known point. Texas AFAIK does not have a free RTK service from its DOT. You could setup on NGS monuments or make your own known point through sitting on a point and logging and then using a free service such as OPUS or running the logs in PPK software such a Redbox, Emlid or RTKLib to get your coordinates.

If you get into drone mapping, do it right. Learn your datums and coordinate systems and elevations. You'd be surprised how many people sell data to include elevations and have no clue about elevations. IMO it is the largest problem in the non-surveyor/engineer drone mapping segment.

You can easily buy a used Phantom 4 RTK for $1500 and up. The Mavic 3 Enterprise with RTK module is only incrementally better. The M3E will fly the mission faster, has better image acquisition strategies, longer flight times but as far as accuracy, I have personally used both and there is no difference. One will beat the other in terms of accuracy on different projects and both can achieve "survey grade" The problem with the Phantom 4 RTK will be getting batteries in the future as it is end of life.

I never moved up to a M3E for personal use because I donot see that large of an improvement for what I do.

But at my real job we bought a M3E and it is better in every way except for keeping line of sight since it is a smaller airframe.

See if you can find a used one with low flight time.
